100 Years of National Parks

The National Parks Service is turning 100 years old today. That’s reason enough to list the National Park sites I have visited so far:

Visiting the Everglades was not only a welcome break during a brutal winter several years ago, it was especially fruitful for this wildlife photographer because I attended a bird photo workshop. Among the wildlife we saw were great blue heron, tricolored heron, wood stork, green heron, anhinga, alligator, great egret, black vulture.

Fort Necessity

Oil Region

Valley Forge

New York:

Niagara Falls

Jefferson (Gateway Arch)

Cuyahoga Valley

Whether nature park, historic site, or industry museum, each site had its own unique quality.

Happy birthday, National Park Service!
